This variety of luffa gourd is cultivated for the tender and sweet flavor of its immature fruits. Despite the sharp ridges running along the green skin of these club-shaped fruits, they do not need to be peeled before being cooked and eaten. Plants grow very well in subtropical and tropical climates, strong tolerant to heat and mildew attacks.
